Explosion rocks Muskogee Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, Okla. -- A scrap metal facility in eastern Oklahoma exploded Tuesday evening, sending fiery debris into the air and blowing out the windows of nearby homes.

Officials said two people working in the Yaffe Iron and Metals plant at the time of the explosion remained unaccounted for and at least four people had been injured by flying debris................

I live approximately 12 miles from this facility and our windows rattled when the explosion occured. Our business is just a mile from there and our building was the only one that still had unbroken windows in the downtown area.

2. The plant processes scrap metal for resale

and uses big smelters to melt it into bars. Probably the furnace.
