Jazz Funeral for Democracy-New Orleans-January 20, 2005
The January 20th Coalition of New Orleans invites all of our friends from Oklahoma to join a meeting of the tribes at our Jazz Funeral for Democracy: "A Wake for Peace" on inauguration day. Funeral march featuring the Treme Brass Band through the French Quarter; rally with Howard Zinn, Kathy Kelly, Dennis Kyne, and others at Jackson Square; second line to Frenchman Street to our own inaugural ball at The Blue Nile jazz club.

1. Many Thanks
Were I not in class teaching that day, my wife and I would probably be there. One of us will probably be at the Library (name of pub, not where many books are kept) ranting about the rise of fundamentalism and the fact that the cost for the inaguration alone would help feed a good chunk of Sumatra.
