I'm so ready for OU football... |
|
even though I now live in So Cal. I'm so sick of USC FWFs that I could scream! I just hope that OU proves it is more than what folks credit it for being.
Go Adrian Peterson!!!

2. I can't wait for the season to start. |

OU is going to be a lot better than some people are expecting. Stoops lost a lot of starters, but he has a ton of talent to put on the field. They'll be in a BCS bowl game.

Stoops will look great in the Black and Gold again - but hopefully several years from now after Ferentz retires.

after Stoops retires? While he may wear the Crimson and Cream now, I'm sure he will never forget his roots. I haven't. I will wear Crimson and Cream forever, just as I'm sure that black/gold sweater of his is hanging somewhere in the back of his closet. Stoops may always be a Hawkeye, but he's got a few more years at the helm of one of the most storied teams in the country.
We love you, Coach Stoops!!!

6. In case anyone missed it... |

Paul Thompson was named the starting quarterback. He's really earned it, and I think he will do a great job.

9. More than my weekend... |
|
has been ruined... Now I've gotta wonder about OU/TX -- I just hope the guys rebound, pull it together, and play to their talented potentials.
Boomer Sooner! Go OU!

10. You got that right ... |

If OU plays like that against Texas, the infamous 63-14 year will be avenged with prejudice.

Pulled it off in the end. Didn't watch it (am in Chicago), but my :loveya: in OKC who played high school football said OU is not at all good this year.

13. It got a little better in the second half |
|
In the end they won by two touchdowns, but it was really much closer. Anyway, it's definitely going to be a long year for the sooners (oh well )

No spark, no leader. There's enough talent, but it's mostly unrefined talent, and they wander around the field like that have no direction. Bob Barry, on the radio, pretty much said the game was boring, and it was.
I'm afraid Texas will get its revenge this year.

15. Why did they dump Tommy Grady??? |
|
I am at a disadvantage being in Chicago. And my :loveya: in OKC doesn't know why either.

16. grady was hurt by summer classes & decided to transfer b/c of the numbers |
|
During summer workouts and fall practice, grady had to make up classes to stay eligible, and thus fell behind both Bomar and Thompson.
Since grady's got three yrs left and bomar's got four, grady figured he wouldn't see the field until his senior year and wouldn't ever start unless bomar left early for the nfl. So he decided to transfer (not sure where to) so that he could get some playing time.
I wish him the best, but I imagine the coaches might be wishing they had him back :)
