OSU President a disaster

In his effort to construct a world to honor mega donor boone pickens, OSU president david schmidley has shown insensitivity, detachment from reality, horrible PR skills and disregard for anything other than $$. The effort underway to purchase or take by eminent domain 400 homes on 100 acres adjacent to the campus says one thing: "Athletics is my business, my ONLY business and by the way, anything else you want your name on Mr. Pickens? Can I get you a cup of coffe?? Water??? yes, mr. pickens...." The university has been touting this plan as being discussed at over 50 public meetings, but now have to back off that absurd statement, qualifying it to mean, "well, most meetings on campus could be considered open if someone wanted to walk in and listen." You just shouldn't tell bald faced lies wrapped in semi truths. The truth may have been 50 meetings in stillwater, the "public" part being the little bit of a lie.

He is a * clone by demonstrating his utter lack of understanding of the community and the impact of such a monument to a donor. He is surrounded by a very few sycophants who tell him he's doing great, then steps into the real world where 75 year old women yell and scream at him because they are losing the house they've lived in for 40 years and have no where to go. He seems shocked that everyone doesn't love him, boone or his ideas. The fact that he only allows "good news" to be told to him, that only his lackeys get his ear, is just like * and the war.

He keeps his AD out of sight because of the vast unpopularity of Mike Holder, generally viewed as an asshole in Stillwater. They have apprarently pulled him from the public forums on the 'Athletic Village' because of the scorn in which Holder is recipeint of. Holder, who said in the Tulsa World, "I know nothing about being an AD except how to raise money" was the "most qualified" just like harriet meirs was. Holder has support of one person, boone pickens, the search was limited to one person, holder, and guess what? He got the job.

The emperor has no clothes in stillwater. His supporters, honestly, are probably limited to the regents, the athletic director who was hand picked by boone, and some of his office staff. I challenge anyone to step onto to campus and find anyone below the VP level who likes the guy or has anything good to say about him. Students are indifferent to him at best, he is rarely seen on campus, doesn't like being around common people. His first action as president was to add CEO to his title, because President wasn't enough title for his ego.

Schmidley spent the first year brining in friends (just like * does), who then have resigned under investigation for copyright and trademark violations for stealing software from Texas Tech, again, they were the "most qualified" in applicant pools of single names.
