I went with my daughter, mom and her husband to the 1:00 show at Southroads. It was about 3/4 full. Lots of enthusiastic clapping and laughter. It was a total Demo crowd..or at least sympathetic crowd. At the end everyone stood and clapped.

When she said, so freakin' flippantly what the title of the August 6 memo stated, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack In the U.S.:
People GROANED in the audience.

3. No groaning just laughing |

I was a little surprised, being Tulsa and all. I didn't expect any trouble really, but I didn't expect such a lively crowd.

6. I wanted to go to that theatre |
|
but I let my paranoia overtake me. I figured that the 41st and Yale location was closer to mid-town and therefore closer to the Deomcratic area of the city....and there would likely be less disruption. I see now that I was really falling for some of the over-wrought hype here on DU.
Actually, now that I think about it, I've never had any problems with dittoheads here in Tulsa ( in the real world - not cyber-world) I guess us Okies are just nicer..even our wing-nuts have better manners than in some other areas.

I went to gage just how many of us there were in s. tulsa, and what a pleasant surprise it was! :-)
However, being one of the Tulsa peacers who stood on the corner of 41st and Yale biased my opinion of the manners of Okie wingnuts. A city truck tried to run us over(jumped the curb) and friends of mine had yellow paint and ice/rocks thrown at them........

8. We went to the Starworld |
|
on Memorial south of 169 on the way to Bixby. We decided to go there figuring that most of the liberals would be at the mid-town showing and wanted to give the south Tulsa showing a boost. Anyway, we were the only ones there for a long time because we went early just in case. The theater continued to fill up until there were no more seats.
I planned on wearing my Peace Frog t-shirt that says World Peace on the back and just before we went, I took a permanent marker and printer Tulsa Peace Fellowship on the front and tulsapeace.org on the back.
I cried through so much of the movie and left determined to continue the fight!

9. F911 proceeds were to go to families of Veterans |
|
The Progressive Alliance Political Action Committee promised half of the proceeds would go to families of Veterans. Where is the money? Calls to Phillipe, Keith Smith, and Andrew Rice have not been returned.

10. The power of the Internet |
|
I just got off the phone with Andrew Rice, Director of the Red River River Project. Before he started screaming and yelling at me (telling me to fu@k off numerous times) he said that $3,000.00 had been raised for the families of Oklahoma families who had lost a family member in the Iraqi war. He said that $6,000.00 was the total raised from the F911 showing. He said he didn’t have to announce to anyone where he was sending the money. He said he hadn’t decided on who to give the money to for disbursement to the Oklahoma families of Iraqi dead. He said he was leaning towards the Red Cross, but hadn’t made a decision.
He screamed at me for posting my questions on the Internet. He told me to fu@k off no fewer than 10 times. He said I was an asshole for posting this on the Internet. He said I should call him if I have any questions, then he screamed at me not to call him, his office, or his group ever again.
Guess I’ll just post my questions here from now on.

you win friends and influence people all over the place, don't you? Are you angling to be kicked off DU again or what?
The money went to the Red Cross for distribution through proper channels to OK survivors of troops killed in Iraq.
