Can I vote in the Repuke senate primary? |
|
I was wondering if cross party voting in primaries was okay. Id like to vote for Humphreys to prop him up b/c he'd be such a weak opponent for Carson. I fear Coburn much more.

His only "serious" opponent is the corrupt state insurance commissioner. Carson will probably poll in the 70s in the primary.

Oklahoma is a closed primary. You only get to vote in the primary for the party with which you are registered.
In your polling place, your name will be on a list separated by party affiliation.

When I walked in for the Dem primary they asked my name and what party I wanted to vote for. So, you can try. But why stoop to dirty tricks. It's so, republican. ;)

Well, I've always been asked "what party?" also, but it was so the task of looking for my name would be limited to one registry.
Did you not have to sign a registrar's list next to your name?

Carson has spent over $900,000 to zero spent by his opponents. If he doesn't win by 90%, he's in trouble.

But I suppose that's better than living in Oklahoma and being totally ignorant on what it takes to get elected as a Dem in this right wing state.
And unlike you, I'm not a one trick pony voter. Your only issue is how a canidate relates to vets. If you found a repuke who related to vets well, you would vote for that repuke. It's that simple with you. Such is the nature of the one trick pony voter. Why you're no better than the pro-life nuts in that dept.
You hatred of Carson is petty. It is venomous. It is dishonest. It is utterly disgusting on about a hundred different levels.
BTW, good luck with the Vets for Kerry thing or as I call it, a massive excersise in futility. I'm sure the senator has a great shot here in Nov. Or haven't you noticed this state hasn't gone for a Dem since LBJ. Been that way since oh.....about 40 years.

But some of us have JOBS to go to. I have better things to do with what little spare time I have than campaign for Kerry in a state that is vehemently anti Kerry. You might as well just piss in the wind. Same thing. Bush will carry CD2 with ease. You could be out helping Dems in this state get a US Senate seat, which I might add is VASTLY more important than picking up a seat in CD2, but we all know how you feel on that. How on earth could we ever forget?
No, I'll donate money where I can. I'll get people I know to vote on election day -- for Carson. Meanwhile, I'm sure our corrupt insurance commissioner will be thankful for your vote in the primary and I'm sure Dr. Coburn will be thankful for your vote come Nov. And I'm sure in Nov. 06 Brad Henry's repuke opponent will be thankful as well.
Which brings me to another question. You hate Henry. You hate Carson. You hate Drew Edmondson. Is there any Democrat of note in this state that holds elective office that you do like?
Frankly, I think you're more interested in the endless in fighting and petty political dramas played out within Oklahoma's sorry excuse for a Dem. party than you are in winning elections.
As far as canidates like Carson and what's her name not meeting with your special interest group, do you ever stop to think it might be your approach?

""Which brings me to another question. You hate Henry. You hate Carson. You hate Drew Edmondson. Is there any Democrat of note in this state that holds elective office that you do like? ""
Gee I just met with Drew Edmondson and we talked about some programs for Veterans, how can I hate him? Brad Henry spoke with me about Veteran problems before he went to China. I have never said I hate him. I have never said I hate Carson, Edmondson, or Henry. Why do you try and put words in my mouth?
About my approach. I played the game for years. Several years ago I raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for candidates and PAC's here in Oklahoma. Then Veterans were ignored until the next election cycle. Promises made, then forgotten.
Then we sent people to Emily's list schools and the Brown/Tully school to teach them how to GOTV, campaign mange, etc.. Once again, Veterans were forgotten until the next election cycle.
Then we put together volunteer groups. Same thing. Promises made, then forgotten.
Now we have registered voters. Thousands of new Veteran voters in this state. You want our vote, guess what, you sit down with us and listen to our problems. If not, we vote for someone else. We showed our numbers and what we could do at a moments notice Feb. 02/03 this year.
Can't wait for next Tuesday.

Brad Carson is a liar. He has lied to CD 2 and others for several years and the yelladawgs of CD2 will not support him just because he is registered as a Demcorat.
Dan Boren supported Veterans when Kayln Free refused.
We begged Kayln Free to sit down with different Veteran groups to discuss our problems. She refused every time we asked. We put together a Veteran Forum which she refuse to attend.
We have discovered some people simply don't like Veterans and she is one.
Dan Boren has only seen his Father David Boren a few times during his life. He was raised by a step father. David Boren was always in Washington DC and hardly knows his son.
Don't talk about birth rights, Kayln screams everywhere she goes that she is Cherokee Indian and how the "Indians should vote with their race". That smacks of racism to me.

Free is a Choctaw, and she has been trying to mobilize the Indian vote. Indians, as you may know, are under-represented in this state at all levels of government. Her argument has been that Indians should vote with their own interests, particularly in opposing the "One Nation" agenda.

How many times have you voted in Oklahoma? I live in CD2. Care to tell me which CD you live in? Working as a volunteer in any races?
I mean come on... Democrats can only vote in Democrat primaries not repug primaries...at least in Oklahoma.
It's been this way for say....80 years.
