3rd Sad Anniversary Of Iraq War Commemorated In Eugene
"Let's Take Back Our America"
March 18th
End the War / Social Justice for All
A coalition of groups and individuals will rally on Saturday, March 18 in a community-wide call to end the war and occupation of Iraq and to work for social justice in America.
At 10:30 am, groups will assemble in three different venues: Lane Co. Fairgrounds Wheeler Pavilion, Alton Baker Park pedestrian Bridge and U of O-EMU and form processions. The processions will kick off at 11 am and converge at noon on the Federal Building for a series of speakers and musicians rallying to
"Take Back Our America!"
Speakers include:
Carmen Urbina: Emcee Mayor Kitty Piercy: Welcome Iraqi War Veteran: Bring the Troops Home From Iraq Dwight Sowers: Native Sovereignty and Immigration State Rep. Paul Holvey: Justice For Workers - Justice for All Jan Spencer "Affluence Drives American Foreign Policy Hope Marston: Civil liberties-In the Footsteps of Ida D. Wells Iana Mathews-Harris High school student:, rap about war/women & youth issues Gretchen Miller: Positive next steps
Musicians Include:
Jenaguru Marimba Ensemble Carol Melia and Henry Snow (Movement folk) Eugene Peace Choir Jim Garcia & Bonnie Duran-Leaming (traditional Mexican music and songs from the farmworker movement) Beth Rose & Steve Sax (peace and justice)

You might try blueoregon.com or something. We've got a local guy who keeps up on everything so I just get it all in my email.
