Are we all enjoying the beginning of our heat wave? This weekend, 104 degrees? Ouch that's hot. I'll take mid-seventies and clear blue sky please! Hope everyone can stay cool. :hi:

2. Do you have air conditioning? |
|
We do and we basically stay inside all day long. Right now, it feels like the humidity is really high and the cloud cover is keeping the heat in. Yuck.
I hope you're staying cool.

I agree. You however are not. Stay cool if you can. If you haven't seen the new "Pirates" movie, we thought it was pretty good. It's long too, so you'd be in the theatre awhile.
Edited to add: Congrats on the new job!!! Hurray!!!

7. Whether we are "weather wimps" is beside the point. I've lived |
|
in the PNW for a good many years, and I've never seen such extreme heat combined with high humidity.
I think it's really, really weird.

9. I remember back 25 years ago, we had a horrible heat wave. |
|
Sitting out on the porch with friends and being so hot, it seemed like the heat lasted days. Then, there were summers here that were cool and drizzly. Yesterday's humidity made me so grumpy. I used to live in Japan, in Yokohama, and the summers were killers. The concrete, the exhaust from air conditioners, and the lack of trees really heated up the city. They have a name for it in Japan, heat island phenomenon." Being very pregnant and enduring the heat/humidity made me long for Oregon. Thank goodness we are back here now. I'll take a day or two of this, but not 4 months! I suppose this is what the south is like.

6. OT: Your black-and-tan Spaniel is adorable! How old??? |
|
Wish I could have a dog. But we're on travel for 3 - 4 months a year and it's too much of a commitment.
I told my husband he could get a puppy -- after I croak!
I enjoy pictures of dogs here and there -- as well as the dogs the blind folks have at Oregon Public Broadcasting.
In peace,

8. Thanks! He just turned one. He is a neat friend! |
|
He has calmed down in the last month and has really become quite the lap dog, which is exactly what we wanted. Dogs are such a commitment, but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
