KUFO, R.I.P. Another great radio station bites the dust....
KUFO has long been a prime spot for hard rock and hard talk in the Portland metro area. After 20+ years, they are dead, and will now simulcast a conservative AM talk-radio channel.

This is deeply fucked-up on multiple levels.

In salute to two decades of great programming, in memento mori and in fucking anger, here's the Dead Kennedys: "Kill The Poor"

1. Yes, deeply fucked up.
I clicked on it today only to have Lars dumb-fuck Larson accost my delicate ears.

That was the station I went to when I wanted the really hard rock I sometimes like, not classic like KGON or The Brew.

Shit.

3. Very disappointing ....
I usually listen to KNRK Alternative, but KUFO had a harder edged lineup, and was my number TWO station ...

The tradeoff for lame ass conservative AM fare is ridiculous ....

KNAC was another radio station in Long Beach CA that sadly went off the air in the 90's .. After a wonderful run starting in the late 60's as KPPC - The first 'Underground' radio station that LA ever heard ...

I also remember when I turned on 'World Famous' KROQ in LA, and they were playing Latin/Mexican music ... I was horrified at the loss of such a grand radio station ...

I had forgotten it was April 1st .... LOL ... the bastards ...

Anyways - RIP KUFO .... And here's to hoping someone else fills the bill, somehow ...
