Does it bug anyone else that K/E is working OR so hard this week? |

And bush seems to think he has a chance here too, hanging around in Southern Oregon. I'd way rather see Kerry/Edwards and all their relatives patrolling Ohio and Wisconsin than Oregon at this stage of the campaign.
I was pretty sure that Oregon was going solidly for Kerry, but I'm concerned about the effect M36 may be having on turnout, and I suspect the internals for both campaigns are showing them something I'm not too happy about.

I think Oregon will go Kerry, but I think it's not worth taking a big chance on with the homophobes out in force.
I think the focus will shift more toward the Midwest as election day nears. Remember, this is the week before the ballots go out, and the Oregon campaign is pushing hard for VOTE EARLY. K/E here this week makes perfect sense considering we Vote by Mail.

4. Kerry is hitting Ohio this weekend. |
|
He'll be in Xenia and Wakefield. And probably every little town in between.

It will increase Retardican voter turnout, and I'm very worried about it. Even though Oregon is one of the least-churched states, you can bet that RW churches will be pushing hard to get the flock to vote.
I honestly believe that K/E needs to be here, and Edwards made a difference by appearing in Jackson County this week.
M36 will likely pass, dammit.

I wish it wasn't on the ballot, this of all years. Why did this have to happen now, instead of in 2002?

It's on the ballot for just that reason. The Repubs know that they need the right wing churches to turn out heavy if they're going to have a chance, so they orchestrated the whole M36 thing ( and similar in other states) to increase their turnout. It's not a coincidence.

although it's OBVIOUS to anyone paying attention that our state isn't a so called "battleground, we need all the help we can get in the form of coattails to get rid of the lunatics that have been running our state into the ground in Salem.

I think this was just a good hit at the state to solidify the votes since we start voting now. Then they can focus on WI, IA, OH, and FL? Get your ballots in pronto, btw. And offer to pick them up when you call, canvass. I had a guy today tell me he's bedridden and does need someone to come get it.
We're canvassing Salem hard this week-end. Does anybody else think if Salem turns out good, it's a wrap?
