I'm loving our mail-in ballot system. |
|
Am I being naive? I really don't have much worry about my ballot being counted with Bill Bradley on the scene.
I keep seeing all this worry and stress about voting on November 2nd from people in other states. I'm really glad we don't have to deal with long lines at voter booths.

I hear about all the bullshit and lines in other states, and it's so good it's not like that here.

A local group of us here met with the local County Clerk who counts the ballots. He is a fanatic, for accuracy and honesty.
He explained that before the optical scan device is used, a sample stack of ballots is run through, then the results compared to the known sample. Then the ballots are run through, after which the sample stack is run through again to double check.
It seems like a great system to me.
He also explained the impressive level of physical security involved, I have no concerns about the count here and I'm pretty damn paranoid in general.

4. Tues, 7:30pm, drop box watches |
|
That's all we have to really worry about. Just make sure somebody is at every drop box in your area to make sure the Pubs don't stop people from voting. The rule is IN LINE, not at the box.
I like it too. Especially when some local elections slip by you, but then your ballot just arrives in the mail so you know what's going on.

7. Anyone know how I change my address? |
|
I just moved and my ballot was sent to the old address. It says "if this is your address you can drop this off....etc.". Does anyone know what I need to do now that my address has changed?
I also need to show my ID as I'm a new Oregon voter.

9. Call (503) 986-1518 ASAP |
|
They should help. And I think you are OK as long as you have already registered. You should be able to get a new ballot at the polling place. (I think)
