We must do whatever we can to stop Corbett from getting elected - we don't want to become another New Jersey....link:

1. re: Onorato
I live outside of Pittsburgh but close enough for the Pittsburgh news. Can you tell me on what issues Onorato is Progressive? Will he support the unions?

4. He's a moderate running against a conservative
Edited on Fri Jul-23-10 08:55 AM by JPZenger
Onorato is a moderate. A real liberal cannot be elected as governor in PA., especially in this election climate where the right-wingers are highly motivated to show up to vote.

Corbett wants to slash state funding, which has already been cut severely. Corbett will go back to the Ridge Administration policy of ignoring cities because city residents didn't vote for him.

Almost every city in PA. is on the edge of bankruptcy.

One of Rendell's biggest achievements was in increasing State funding to poor school districts. That funding will stop if Corbett is elected.

Corbett will also be the tool of big land developers and natural gas companies, at the expense of the environment. He has received huge campaign contributions from the gas industry and has opposed extraction taxes on them (which EVERY other state with a gas industry already charges).

6. A pro-urban pro-Middle class pro-union pro-environment governor
Onorato would strongly support PA. cities, strengthen the middle class, support unions and protect the environment. That is not bad. Just don't expect him to talk everyday about far-left issues. After all, he needs to win northeastern PA.
