Laffey's announcement speech
I was reading his announcement speech its here if you want it http://www.electlaffey.com/site/newsread.php?id=58

Anyway my thoughts after reading it were that he's definetely going to play the Washington outsider card, someone who's gonna fight special interests and look out for the average man. One thing that seemed really odd, he's challenging an incumbent Senator and not once was Lincoln Chafee's name brought up.

3. What?
Langevin 06, unless your talking about his re-election bid. He's not running for Chaffee's seat.

4. Because I want a victory. RI is blue and Langevin...
was sadly pushed out of the race by the left/pro choice wing. Langevin is a good man who disagrees with the party on ONE ISSUE.

Jim Langevin is:

-Pro Environment
-Pro Stem Cell Research/without restrictions
-Anti Death Penalty
-Anti Iraq War(for a time table)
-Pro balanced budget
-Wants to repeal the tax cut on the wealthiest Americans
-Lower taxes for the working class
-Pro independent panels to investigate Bush's wrong doing
.....etc...

Lincoln Chaffee is a Bushista lapdog.

I want Langevin back in the race.

Senator Jim Langevin, Class I(D-RI)2007-

5. I completely agree
With you. I was really upset that Langevin was pushed out of the race. What upset me even more was that he was pushed out of the race by non-RI'ers, and the although they pushed Langevin out they went ahead and endorsed Chaffee anyway. But Langevin isn't running for Senate and he's thrown his support behind Sheldon Whitehouse

7. I don't know
He's polled decently well against him. The most recent poll had Chaffee up 38-25, but this poll seemed awfully amateurish and even then Chaffee is an incumbent only polling in at 38%. The most recent poll before that had Chaffee up 41-36
