PROVIDENCE, R.I. Democratic Party leader Howard Dean is scheduled to pay a visit to Rhode Island later this month.

Dean, the former Vermont governor who ran for the presidency in 2004, is expected to appear to begin his January 27th visit with an afternoon rally at the Warwick campus of the Community College of Rhode Island. He'd then headline a fundraiser in West Warwick.

Rhode Island Democratic party Chairman William Lynch says he hopes to raise at least 25-thousand dollars from Dean's visit. Tickets going for 200 dollars apiece.

Dean is chairman of the Democratic National Committee. His last officials visit to Rhode Island was in September 2004.
