Mystery Beast Kills Animals in S.C.
Mystery Beast Kills Animals in S.C.

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

(12-12) 16:31 PST Bolivia, N.C. (AP) --

An unknown predator mauled a pit bull and killed two puppies in Brunswick County, and residents fear it's the same animal that killed three dogs in September. No one has reported ever seeing the animal.

The county's animal control agency investigated the animal's tracks, droppings and other clues but couldn't determine what attacked the dogs. Locals call the unknown animal the Beast of Bolivia.

Some residents and experts said the predator may be a bear, a wayward panther or cougar, or even a wolf because 3-inch paw tracks were found at the scene.

No doubt Coast to Coast will have all the gory details
Including the latest Chupacabra theories.

Then they'll say something REALLY loopy.

13. I'm the same - I don't know any more
I used to LIKE Art Bell. It was a pleasant diversion, something interesting to listen to late at night.

Definitely to be taken with a large grain of salt, though.

16. I thought Art was great at interviewing. If you listened close you could
tell he didn't always believe what his guests or callers said by a long shot, but he was always courteous and respectful.

I respect him for being WAY ahead of the 8-ball on climate change. He stuck his neck out and caught a lot of flack for that.

22. Yes, I remember that
About 6 or 7 years ago, he would devote whole shows to global warming, with interviews of climate researchers and news of major climate events.

for the next two weeks while they ignore every criminal activity of the US govt. Just pick pick up the paper in the yard and take it immediately to the recycle bin.

27. ?
Pit bulls are super aggressive. This usually makes predators back down. Obviouly this custome found it a challenge with no rivalry over territory. I would think a testy bear as a type ranging among human habitations as a more logical candidate than a cougar or lone wolf. Some exotic predators escaped in vaious storms but doubtful any would survive to be this much a threat.

Why the attacker can't be identified from saliva, fur, droppings, wound-making, print evidence is more puzzling. Is anyone looking that hard? DNA is expensive but wait until the first human gets killed.
