Is anyone running against Stephanie Herseth Sandlin in the '08 Democratic primary? |
|
I ask because she voted for the Military Commissions Act (8/27/06), voted against the McGovern amendment to bring our troops home from Iraq (5/10/07), and voted for Bush's demands for warrantless wiretapping (8/4/07).
Some folks might say that's "three strikes" for the Congresswoman.

1. I'm sure some Repug will run against her. |

Though I don't think a Democrat could run because she's incumbent, right?

2. Her record is ugly for a Dem |

But she represents South Dakota. If she voted more to the left, she'd be out of office in short order, and we'd lose one more seat in the House. I figure if the representative from this state is a lost cause anyway, let's at least hold onto the seat to increase our chances at controlling the committees and the legislative agenda.
