although he's a little too right-leaning for my preferences, I love Phil... He has sure steered TN out of the path of the iceburg.

I really like him. He isn't DLC too which is cool. :) I really do hope he wins again. That would be great!!

7. I'd like him better if he supported Dem candidates and built the party |
|
He's doing a good job, certainly better than his predecessor did and much better than his opponent would have done. I would've like to see a better solution on health care, but he didn't have much room to manouver after the liberal gadfly sued to prevent the changes Bredesen wanted to make. So he did what he could.
However, I haven't seen him do the things to build the Democratic party that I would like to see. Also, I haven't seen him provide campaign assistance (visits, photo-ops, etc.) to Democratic candidates at the national, state, or local level.
So, good governor, but not the great one he could be.

there is no way I can vote for Bredesen. He has not shown any Democratic values that I can see. He promised to fix TennCare but he gutted it instead. He said he was undecided when it came to whether they should ban gay people from adopting and now he has said he will vote for the Constitutional ban on same sex marrige. As a liberal my vote is too sacred to give it to him.

6. So who are you voting for, then? |
|
Not that we really need to worry in this race, but still...

9. Who am I going to vote for? |
|
That is a good question. Obviously I can't and won't vote for Bryson. Bredesen is out of the picture so I guess no one unless a third party candidate shows up. At this point I would vote for John Jay Hooker. I am really disenchanted and cynical about politics and the 2 party system. I feel disenfranchised and less than a second class citizen. So I may not vote for anyone at all.

8. I generally like Bredesen, but |
|
His anti-gay stances give me the jitters.
