Snip: <Air America To Go Silent At WDOD
posted February 3, 2006

WDOD Radio plans to end its brief format change to the liberal Air America network.

Stuart James, who was one of the hosts on the station, said next week will be the last for Air America on WDOD.

Chattanooga's oldest radio station switched several months ago from a Music of Your Life format. >

1. not so fast
Only the local show is being dropped apparently, contradicting earlier reports.

3. I can only hope that Air America will remain, but this will be a HUGE loss
for Democracy for Chattanooga (Wed.), The Voice which featured local candidates running for office and for the other local ads, events, etc., that were advertised during this time slot. Betsy Bramlett did a great job on Mon. mornings. Crap!!! AAR remaining is a good thing, but losing this local avenue is going to hurt.

4. I've been listening and the original lineup is there. The local hour was
cancelled and while having AAR on is a good thing, as I mentioned before, losing this local hour with different topics each day of the week is gonna hurt. Stuart James was on for an hour each week and he had local candidates (D) on, DFC and other democratic voices have been lost as a result of dropping this segment.
