If anybody thinks electing Corker will boost the local economy, think again
Friday we lost a bid, a competitive bid, to do election day work for the (repugnant) party at the Chattanoogan.

We, and two other local firms, have found out today that we had been replaced by an outfit from Mobile, Alabama that has a resume of (reptilian) customers.

We're talking $10-20,000 US American Dollars LOST to not only the Chattanooga market, but also the great state of Tennessee.

Who has Corker in their pocket? NOT THE HOMETOWN FOLKS!!

1. I hate to hear that. But it's possible that he might stiff the AL company
and not pay them!

2. We know he's capable of that
but it gets worse. I think it's a front, and I don't care who knows anymore, it's a front for this Tolar guy from Nashville to make a huge contribution and not make official campaign records of the money flow. Am I making sense? He's the contact person, not the campaign, and I've refused to get involved (there was work for me to do, but I couldn't see that it was being accounted for right, just too many last minute requests with no guarantee of payment).

The funny in a gossipy way part is that Corker didn't make plans for a 'victory night party' and last Thursday horned in on Zach's reservation at the Chattanoogan. Breaks me up. Five days before election day and they are just getting around to having microphones set up for the press. Tonight they've got the load-in side of the chattanoogan security cordoned, the street is closed, it's getting crazy down there.

I am so pleased that you are working so hard getting voters to the polls, it's what I think about while I'm chained to my desk. Please keep up the good work! and when I'm old and retired I'll join up.

This will be my first election day with DU, I'm just going to sweat off about six pounds tomorrow!!!

Ford! Bredesen!! Benedict!!! It's happening!!!

3. Did you notify your local paper and call-in shows?
If not, be sure to call in early to let others know of this---you still might reach some "undecideds" before they go to the polls! And I'm sorry you didn't get the contract.

4. maybe it's changed a co-worker's vote,
my boss is part of the 'newsiness' business, it is an office policy that he is the only media contact, luckily I've got DU, and I know someone here will tell someone, etc.

Yes, I did encourage him to 'make an announcement' - I offered to write the release!

5. Regardless of what happens.
my family was saying that Corker's reputation took a huge hit because of the race baiting ad. The national media didn't know who he was until the ad got airplay and national attention.

6. Did you notice that this meme of being good for business in the area
was big in the paper Friday? I thought about you and laughed.

Headline: Leaders wait for Corker effect

Commissioner Larry Henry (R:puke:) is convinced that the former mayor is gonna have a natural inclination to Hamilton Co. and things will be just swell, and additionally Corker naturally lends more clout to the region.

Mayor Littlefield: "I don't think people should get their hopes up that the federal treasure chest is going to open and gold is going to flow from Washington." Uh, the treasury is kinda empty there, Ron.

Claude Ramsey has some jibberish about not having to spend as much time bringing Corker up to speed on local issues. Note to Claude - the only issues that Corker was interested in were those that put money into his pockets.

So there you have it, things are gonna be just great now that Bob's in the senate, but then again, maybe not.

7. It's like, what has Lamar done for TN lately?
Bob and Lamar, OMG...

The only headline I noticed was "The Lonely Senate Freshman (R)" He won't get picked for the softball team, now will he?

Has Brentwood noticed a natural inclination to more clout for their region? since they've been having two senators from there for the past four years, and Bob's from the neighborhood, too. I don't care that he went to city high school, his daughters grew up next door to Reese Witherspoon.

At least it's not Saxby.

I expect better from Claude Ramsey. I expect Nothing from LittlemywifetheRealtor™willsellyourfield.

Crawling back under the covers, this cough and cold is killer!
