Does anyone remember this in local news? |
|
http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/newsom.aspOr is it being downplayed as the article suggests? I live near there and don't recall a word of it in local news. I don't watch our news that much, but wow.

1. Oh yes, it happened here in the Knoxville area. It's not being downplayed. |
|
Some right-wingers have started a n entire set of "moral outrage" emails, radio articles, etc. about it.
It was a horrific crime and the perpetrators were arrested shortly after it, indicted and are being tried.

Like i said, i don't watch local news often. I suppose i just missed it. Same with the Johnia Berry fiasco here in Knoxville. And that one happened a few streets down.
Anyway, thanks:) I just don't care to watch the TV anymore. It seems to be packed full of garbage. I just check in on DU or a handful of other sites to try and keep up with more national topics.

3. I remember hearing a quick blip about it on Nashville TV right after it happened. |
|
I was awaiting surgery & home w/little to do but watch TV. I remember the original report that only said they had been found murdered. I never remember hearing any follow up story. Especially not with those gory details.
Is the girl from Chattanooga? Were they UTK students? I ask because my mother told me about a Chattanooga girl that was found dead & they didn't know what had happened to her. This could be another dreadful incident in Knoxville, I don't know.
Do they know the motive for these horrific murders?
K-town is getting very violent.

It does seem to be a bit hush hush doesn't it? Suppose they did that to keep a shit storm from brewing? It looks like the kids were UT students. The girl had moved from Louisiana and her friend was a local.
Anyway, yeah, Knoxville is quite the little city lately. I moved here from DC and the bits of local news i do hear are strange.
I had my car stolen at a grocery store parking lot within the first month moving here. To think i was worried in DC:)

5. Sorry for you misfortune. TN used to be a nice quiet place to live. |

The entire country seems to be more violent now. I blame media explosion with NO oversight. Violent TV, movies, video games....it all adds up over time. Even some of the commercials have a nasty tone.
This case does seem unusual in that it wasn't widely reported. Where was Nancy Grace?
