Did anyone see my state senator, Doug Jackson, on Colbert last nite? |
|
Not sure if it was a good or bad thing. He was talking about his bill to allow those w/permits to carry guns in bars or other establishments where booze is served. Colbert acted like it was straight out of the Wild West. They interviewed some half-soused goobery guys in bars in Nashville, & they acted like typical red-necks.
This bill confuses me, I must admit. As a woman, I might feel the need to carry a gun in bars these days, but if you are carrying, you can't drink. Not sure if this is designed to put in place a hidden sort of militia to be armed if trouble breaks out, or what.
It makes me wonder if Doug might be going to run against Lamar for his US Senate seat. May be his way of cozying up to the pro-gun faction. They showed him out on the gun range shooting.
Doug does have some personal baggage, but don't they all.
Anyone know?

1. Yes, I saw him What a loser. Don't we have any with brains? |

And the "half-soused goobery guys" were really a stitch. At first I thought they were acting, but then I realized that they were for real.

2. LOL. I thought they were Colbert actors to at first. |

Then, sadly, the realization that they were "for real" sunk in, & I was embarrassed. We do live in crazy times, in a crazy state.
