Did I start something in GD?
Maybe I didn't notice prior to last Friday when I posted my "Stop beating up on us Texans" thread, but ever since, there seems to be more pro-South threads cropping up. The forum was flooded with OBL threads last week, so if this trend started last week or before, I couldn't see them, and apologize for trying to take credit.

It's great this is happening, though. Some DU-ers needed their eyes opened. But, if my thread did start something, well, I never thought I had that kind of power or respect around here

1. I think it did.
Even a little positive change makes a difference and your thread was very thoughtful and kind. Thanks for starting it!
:hi:

3. You're welcome :)
I know it was a "rant" but I did my damnedest to make sure at least I remained civil. I think that helped the others do the same. So those DU-rules about civility aren't for nothin'! ;)

2. Hey I'll give you a thumbs up
You had the courage to go stir the hornets nest. I just hope they don't keep trying to return and build up that nest of anger.

Thanks for putting it out there.

Trust but verify. Stay alert.

4. I don't know about courage;
more like I was just fed up and had to say something, no matter the reaction. DU pleasantly surprised me in how they took it :D The disagreeable ones numbered far fewer than I'd expected.

Also, TxVietVet made an eloquent post to the thread recently. If you didn't see it, it's close to the bottom and well worth reading :)

6. I bet I know where he is, in general terms.
I think I've heard the station he's talking about when I was driving to Austin. I grew up hating country music because I hated the racist jerks who liked it (at least that's who liked it in the time and place of my childhood, enough of them for me to notice, anyway), but now I love it. The old stuff, anyway.

Then again, maybe there are lots of stations like that around TX. That would be cheerful news.

10. There's a little radio station in Livingston, KDOL.
It's part of the "Texas CD Review". I believe they have an online broadcast and it would be associated with the Texas CD thing. They've syndicated it, I believe. If you can catch it, you might enjoy the music. It's Texas country music. Tommy Mouser is the station/program/janitor manager. Puts on a good show. They also have a music concert in the parking lot of a BBQ stand on Hwy 190 West. 30 to 40 people show up, eat good BBQ on Friday night.

I'm glad you liked it.

The one I heard was near LaGrange, IIRC.

I'll try to find it online - thank you very much!

Found it - OMG, is the rest of Livingston that cool?!
