The most beautiful weather warning I've seen all year:

2. I actually did save some!
Almost a whole gallon!

Turned out it wasn't the raging flood waters that were predicted. But it was a long slow rain that happened during the night so it instead of sending us swimming down the street in boats, the ground sucked it in like a sponge. Heck, I think even the pavements absorbed some of it.

Broke the 100 degree streak we've been on, so there's that blessing. :hi:

USDA dubs all of drought-stricken Texas a disaster

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has dubbed all of Texas a natural disaster as the worst drought in decades persists across most of the state.

In a news release sent Tuesday, the department designated 213 counties directly impacted by drought as disasters and said the remaining 41 also qualified for assistance because they are contiguous.

The designation, which also applies to 32 counties in four neighboring states, allows ranchers and farmers to apply for low-interest emergency loans.

Enjoy your brief respite. It won't last long unfortunately. :(

4. Yeah, I know
Just the same, I'll take what I can get. Up here, "drought" is just another name for summer. :(
