Should Gov. Warner seek a position
Edited on Tue Apr-20-04 09:57 PM by vadem0557
in the Kerry Administration (hopefully) to elevate the current Lt. Governor--damnit can't remember his name. Kilgore (what a name) is sure to be the repub nominee for gov.---can't stand him--he was involved in the illegal listening of conference calls and sounds like a sissy when he talks.

2. Weinner ain't much of dem maby DOT I wouldn't trust him
with much else. That way he could keep telling Va. the reason they don't have roads is because they don't want to pay taxes.

4. He can't do much with a repug legislature.
He is a business man, yes, but no you are incorrect--Warner is a Democrat, more so than many other southern democrats (Zell). He tried to get increases for roads--even had a state referendum on it--and lost--not much he can do about that. But, if you look at what hes doing now---getting a repug legislature to even consider tax increases up to $4 billion dollars--he needs to be rewarded. I do agree that roads in Va suck really bad. I hate I64 east of Williamsburg, especially in summer.

11. Don't remind me of roads east of Williamsburg..
You think they are bad now.. they are going to be repaving the roads from Newport News (exit 255 (the closest exit to my home)) all the way to Richmond in preparation for the 400th annivessary of Jamestown.

6. I hope Warner serves out his term
but once he's done with that he has a national career ahead of him. I think he'd be great in a Kerry cabinet. I like him. Just think of what the man has to deal with. A state economy in shambles and he's still trying to hold down state university costs which is a huge issue. The quality and affordability of the state's colleges is a major pride for Virginians and should never be abandoned.

12. I want to see him take away Allen's Senate Seat!
Smirky George Allen should be limited to one term. For two years we could have two Senators Warner. Then maybe someone will run against John Warner?

7. I'll vote for whatever Dem runs against Kilgore
But I do have to say here that Kilgore is actually the person who reported the illegal listening (or his office did at his direction). Also, the sound of his voice is the result of his upbringing in the coalfields. Several very non-sissy people in my wife's family (from Clintwood) talk the same way.

He's still a Republican who needs to be defeated. The Republican General Assembly has already done immeasureable damage to this state (with the help of idiot Allen and Gilmore). I'd hate to see what they'd do if they held the assembly and the governor's office.

8. Kilgore knows a lot more than he's let on...
about the illegal eavsdropping. A couple of guys from his office were in on the discussions. He reported it when he realized that it might stick to him. No points for courage, plenty for CYA.

14. I voted for him when he ran against John Warner for Senator...
the % of votes he received....first time out..was more than impressive. I would like to see him in the Senate. Kilgore is a sissy...Allen is a leming...good for nothing but hanging on to his fathers coat tails.

Mark Warner made history in VA. with this new budget. He is truly a consensus builder.
