Kaine's Victory Very Impressive(County Results inside) |
|
I must say that this is very impressive:
Kaine won these key counties:
Prince William(by 2%) Loudon(by 5%) Henrico(by 10%) as well as Virginia Beach City(by a hair)
Those four areas very few expected Kaine to win. Even Warner didn't win Prince William, Loudon, and Virginia Beach City.
Kaine's margin in Fairfax county, 22%, is the largst any Dem has won in modern history. All in all, a very impressive win.

1. As a resident of VA Beach... |

I'm truly stunned that Kaine took the city. This is one red place. I think that Kilgore's campaign tactics really backfired on him. And I was the recipient of that lovely Democratic voter guide that Kilgore got fined for sending out to the voters. Serves the bastard right. Glad he went down in flames, as he was truly deserving of defeat.

4. Tim won the BEACH?!?!? That's great but I hate to say this |
|
I really hate to be like this but this really isn't adding up. Kaine takes Va.Beach AND the some of the southern parts of NOVA and still only wins by 6 points? 8 if he were to have gotten every Potts vote?
Kilgore wins Chesterfield by 8K but Earley won by 14K.
That doesn't add up. I'm just saying-it should be a much larger win.

8. It's because Kaine lost almost all of SW VA...where Kilgore is from |
|
Warner made big wins in SW VA. Kaine won only the most die-hard dem counties in that mountainous region. Kilgore had geographical advantage. OTOH, Kaine won every single jurisdiction in Hampton Roads.
For some reason, the city of Manassas votes far more conservative than the surrounding suburban and semi-rural areas in Prince William.
The white tr^H^H^H working class suburbs to the south seem to be trending Democratic. The horse country to the north seems to be dominated by rich, slow-growth FFVs who don't appreciate Kilgore's pro development stance.
