NEED VOLUNTEERS IN NoVA TOMORROW! |
|
Hi Folks -
I am a precinct captain in the Reston/Herndon area and we have a real shortage of volunteers to work the polls and to make phone calls to Democratic non-voters in the afternoon. I know the other precincts near mine are in bad shape, too. If you or any friends can volunteer, even for an hour, we can really use it. Control of the Senate could come down to how well we get out the vote here in northern VA.
Thanks!

1. One of your Hunter Mill Precincts went 66% Webb |
|
Allen only got 31.5% there. Unfortunately, it had a low 35% turnout of total registered voters. It is a very big precinct. Has a lot of potential.
In contrast my Dranesville precinct had about 55% turnout but only gave Webb 56% of the vote. Allen got 41.5% here.
Imagine how well her precincts would have done with more Reston/Herndon GOTV volunteers.

2. This is a great area, and we need more dem volunteers as a rule. |
|
Turnout, as we see, is everything. I'm going to work this angle harder next time around... figure out how to get more people involved.
I think Judy Feder's campaign brought out a lot of dem voters, even though she lost. I hope she runs again in '08, with better name recognition and battle skills under her belt. Do you have a link to the precinct-by-precinct returns? I'd love to see how mine did.
