Tom Davis Retiring?

Raising Kaine is reporting that Davis is shuttering his campaign office and speculating that this means he will announce his retirement soon.

1. He better quit. He'll get a real pasting at the polls if he doesn't

Northern Virginia wenet 60% to 40% for Kaine, Byrne, and Deeds in 2004, the top three slots (Gov, LtGov, AG).

That was a big change from the slightly plus 50% victory of Kerry in 2004 (although the vote was likely
fixed and Kerry was under counted).

Then Davis' wife, a real political tiger and very ambitious/smart, lost a state Sentate seat right in
the middle of the Davis district. He's very identified with her by the public. She spent nearly $2.0
million and lost getting only 45% of the vote.

Old turncoat Tom (he used to be reasonable guy)is smart enough to read these tea leaves. He's on the
ropes already and Lesley Byrne is the one to deliver the knockout. She should since she should, by all
rights, be Lt. Governor given the highly questionable loss to the Republican in 2005. But the
Virginia Democratic party doesn't give a damn about fighting election fraud.

2. I use to live in Northern VA
and worked very hard to get Leslie Byrne elected to the 11th district the first year it existed not only was she the first Representative for the 11th district she was the first woman elected to Congress from Virginia - if I'm remembering correctly it was 1992 - she won and then lost in 1994 to Davis in the 1994 massacre - Gingrich revolution. Worked hard for her that year too - now that was one bad election day. It would be SO COOL to have her take that seat back. Only time in my ENTIRE life I ever felt truly represented.

Oh and by the way pretty big rumor that Davis and his now wife were messing with each other while still married to other people - and then that ass hole hypocrite Davis voted to impeach Clinton - now I really don't care who messes with whom but to then go and vote for impeachment on Clinton when he was doing the same damn thing - please ....would actually love to see him run against Leslie so she can wipe the floor with his sorry ass - never liked him EVER
