Kerry forces still in Virginia. |
|
Apparently Kerry will be sending most of his high level organizers to swing states that are considered more crucial for a win this November. While this is disheartening, we still have an excellent chance to Kerry the state, and possibly swing the 2004 election.
Remember that in 2000 there was NOTHING for Virginians to do for the Gore campaign - it was completely non-existant. There was no way we were going to impact that election. But this year things are different.
We've been working on voter registration in northern VA like crazy the last month, and this is the first time in my 18 years in the state there has been anything like an attempt to win the Presidency. There are more KE yard signs and bumper stickers in NOVA than for the evil ones, and the people up here are really motivated.
We have the volunteers in place for a huge GOTV.
All we need is three more good debates, continued GOTV efforts by those of us who live here between now and November 2, and we can take the state.
If Bush dumps all his resources in the "swing" states and manages a draw there - then VA might be the state that wins it for us.

1. I was driving through Woodbridge yesterday |

and an older woman pulls up along side me in a huge Cadallac and asks me where I got my bumper stickers. It made me regret not buying extras so I could hand some out.

2. Yes exactly lots of "hard work" being done in SW Va. too |
|
That is where Mark Warner WON the Governorship.
I am starting another thread here on volunteering, not to step on this one but to get the message out.
It is way to close but I understand why they did what they did.
