I went it yesterday morning to drop off the cash from the State Fair and new registrations from Saturday night and one of the young guys who set up and ran the Richmond office told me about this. I said,"Straight up are they bailing on us?" and he said "Oh no way we have everything set up but they can use us elsewhere, we HAVE to win the states we won in 2000 so since everything here is moving smoothly we are leaving it up to the volunteers. 5 paid people are staying here and all the offices are staying open (NoVa, Hampton Roads, Roanoke, Norton (Wise county waaaaaaaaay SW Va.) is doing a lot of good work , Harrisonburg, and Richmond). It is completely still in place but they just decided to use their resources in that way" He didn't seem very happy about it, this was his and the other guy's baby. He also said that when Va. turns they both were going to throw it back in the DNC's face.
This guy was heading to Colorado today. The other guy is already in Wisconsin.
Folks, from everything I have seen personally there are lots of really fired up Dems AND Republicans here.
The latest Mason Dixon poll has Va. W49-Kerry 43 with 1% for Nader (he isn't even on the ballot) and the MOE is 4%, do the math. This doesn't include many of the newly registered voters (today is the deadline)-My wife and I have signed up about 30 ourselves and possibly 20-30+ from the registration fliers I put out.
VOLUNTEER!!!
Seriously, no matter what state you live in -WHAT WILL YOU TELL THE CHILDREN? YOU DID?

I've been out in the Leesburg (NoVa, just west of Fairfax Co.) office for...shit, is it 4 weeks??? I'm on daytime phone-banking, combined James Socas (10th District Congressional candidate) and John Kerry, and we're burning up the lines. We've got people using their 'unlimited minutes' cell phones 'cause the other phones are all in use. Plus they just opened another office, courtesy of our ex-Lt. Gov. Don Beyer, out near Dulles Airport.
Get your butts in here!!! We are motivated like nobody's business! And we're hearing it! I'm talking to people who are 74 years old and madder'n hell, and they say they'll be at the polls if they have to walk!!!
