so today I tried this new "for the roads" vdot phone service

our road is state maintained, but dirt, and we haven't had any gravel spread in well over 6 months. With todays warm temps the road thawed into a morass of thick mud, about 6 inches deep. Even with 4wheel drive I had a hard time driving down the hill and the flat was even worse.
So I thought - all the ads I've been hearing - why not call them? It did take a hold of about 7 minutes on hold before I got through to a person (Tammy), but she was polite, efficient, and put in a work order for us to have the road regravelled and packed. All in all - it was a pretty positive experience. Now to see if the work trucks come out in the next couple of days.... :-)
