Neither me nor the commie are willing to show photo IDs.... are we going to be able to vote with our registration cards if we sign affidavits?

1. No problem.
Just show your voter registration card, fill out a simple form, then go into the booth.

2. I think all of the little old ladies at St. Andrews in Ghent..
are "of our kind" any ways...
I feel that because they are so helpful and friendly

4. Sorry I didn't see your post before the election.
In Virginia, your voter_id card should be all you have to show unless you have recently registered or filled out a change of address with DMV. What is on your Voter ID is the same as what is on the poll book.

When you get to the check-in, you have to show the voter-id card OR some other form of ID preferrably one with a picture. If your name is misspelled on the voter_ID card, it will be misspelled the same way on the pollbook. After you have presented your ID, you must say your name out loud. The worker repeats your name or spells it if they can't pronounce it. Then you must say your address out loud. This is part of the procedure so that the party poll watchers can hear who you are and not have to look at your ID, too. The procedures are still in effect without poll watchers.

If you or someone in your household has moved since the last time you voted, you may have a question mark or some other letter by your name and you may need to fill out a form. This is so that the registrars office has the correct info. If you have moved even if it is only a few blocks, that could throw you into a different congressional district.
A postoffice change of address triggers a question mark in the pollbook beside the names of everyone at the previous address. So if your child has moved out on his own, you may need to confirm that you still live in the same place.

If you are a jogger and stop by the polls without any ID, you can still vote provided your name is in the pollbook and there is no letter beside your name; you only need to fill out a statement of eligibility.
