I'm a NYC transplant to NOVA in the early '80's. It took me a while to drop my attitude and really appreciate this place, which I have for many years. My level of gratitude for living her has gone even higher as I watched, supported, and participated to a degree in the Virginia Democratic effort. I think it was well run, spirited, and made me think that there is a real basis for the Democratic revival in this state. The demographics are on our side and the people and structure in place are very impressive.

I also think that there is something very wrong with these stupid voting machines. I remember in the primaries even the Republicans complained. I just don't buy my precinct ratio or total (I poll watched).

Since we have the guv, maybe somebody will do a discrete Virginia-like investigation in the spirit of that truth seeker of old, Thomas Jefferson.

This is a great place to live that has gotten even greater now that I've seen just how first rate the Democrats are!

Corporate America controls the media and we get manufactured news.
Corporate America now controls the voting machines and we get manufactured elections.

1. VA Dems rule!!!
It's perhaps the most schitzophrenic state out there.. the north is union, the central/south is confederate.. yet somehow, a dem governor turns up every now & then

While I don't exactly miss VA (Moved to San Francisco 5 years ago), in many ways my heart is still there, in that poor borderline state between sanity and madness

a lot like me :silly:

:yourock:

2. Thanks! I saw a lot of them work their tails off.

We had our plan in place and were knocking on doors, doing GOTV and voter ID'ing, 6 months ago.

We have a lot of work to do on our state and local races however. Having a bit of trouble dislodging the likes of Wolf and Davis, and a host of nutjobs at the state level.

But, one fight at a time. My district really closed the gap for the Presidential race since 2000. We helped deliver Fairfax County for Kerry.
