We lost power last night for 12 hours, UPJr was @ friend's, drove home today and said lots of trees down, roads blocked, powerlines down. It was loud and roaring here last night, trees whipping all over but minimal damage at our house. Everyone else ok? Oh yes, more winds tomorrow, cold by Tues, maybe snow levels getting low too.

1. Yeah, it was bad last night |
|
Sorry about your power outage - that sucks. :( I guess we're getting another tonight.
And yeah, it's supposed to get *very* cold next week, especially midweek.
Meanwhile, all the East Coast DUers can't stop talking about how warm it is. I'm freezing!!! x(

2. I wasn't watching to see if media hyped this storm, but it was nasty over here |
|
Jr said trees and lines down all over, had to do a bunch of detours to get home. Worst thing is power went out RIGHT as I was going to hit post message button. I really hate that, esp when I finally get a decent bunch of writing rather than my usual short bits. It's cold out, snow by mid-week maybe. Cold and damp and I HATE THE WIND!!!

4. The wind is just the WORST |
|
Our lights were flashing like crazy last night - we were sure we might lose our power, but luckily we didn't. Sucks that you were just getting ready to post!!
We really want to go up to PT one of these days, but I think we'll have to wait until spring, the way this winter is looking. Oy! Hang in there! :hi:

Hey, I walked six or seven blocks downtown in the rain and wind Friday night; that was surreal! At one point I found myself stuck in the middle of the Union street by the wind and the rain, totally unable to move; I told my body to move forward, but it didn't- I felt like there was a diconnect between my brain and my legs - and then I couldn't breath because the wind knocked the breath out of me, all of it in about 3 seconds! When I got to Broadway it was time for atriple mocha!}( :P
But really, flaming youth, I am on the top floor of my building and the pounding rain last night just drove me nuts!

I used to live on the 14th floor and the wind is NOT FUN up there either. I don't envy you being out walking around in that mess last night - YIKES!!!

'til three this afternoon. Parts of the island are`still doin' without. Our state senator, Mary Louis Haugen is talking seriously about undergrounding power lines. I'll believe it when I see it.
