44th District tally now favors Mike Hope
I hope to God Mike Dope doesn't take this race. Until now I was happy that Liz Loomis appeared to have withstood this cocksucker's sleazy assed attack ads.

The Republican had been trailing Liz Loomis earlier.

EVERETT -- Republican Mike Hope's third try for the state Legislature may wind up a success.

On Saturday, Hope moved ahead of Democratic state Rep. Liz Loomis by 118 votes in their fierce battle for a seat in the 44th Legislative District.

Hope leads Loomis 32,787 votes to 32,669, a difference of 0.18 percent.

That a big turnaround from Election Day when Loomis led 53 percent to 47 percent and held a 2,139-vote advantage.

Snohomish County elections officials will not post another updated ballot count until Wednesday.

1. 116 votes separate Hope and Loomis
EVERETT -- In the latest vote tally released Wednesday evening, Republican Mike Hope maintained a narrow lead over Democratic state Rep. Liz Loomis in the hotly contested race for the 44th Legislative District.

Just 116 votes out of 66,435 cast separate the two candidates, a margin of 0.18 percent. If this were the final tally, that's close enough to warrant a mandatory hand recount.

But not all of the votes are counted yet, and votes from military personnel and others overseas may come in as late as Nov. 24.

Snohomish County elections officials plan to post another updated ballot count Friday.
