Where does Sen Cantwell stand on health care reform? |
|
According to her website:
"Working closely with many Washingtonians, I introduced the Medical Efficiency and Delivery Improvement of Care (MEDIC) Act to address three specific areas of health care reform: reforming Medicare's pay structure so that it rewards quality of care, not quantity of care, as in the current structure; developing long-term care services and programs to provide patients with options and alternatives to nursing homes; and increasing the number of practicing primary care doctors to ensure coordinated care for patients."
I don't see anything there that mentions how people without health care will benefit from her plan. Help me out.
"f patients don't have access to quality doctors, no health insurance plan is going to be enough. .... "My plan adopts long overdue reforms to improve pay levels for primary care providers... " How is this going to help people with no insurance?

1. This is just another incremental form that will help, but not really deal with the problem |
|
She has said and done nothing as a member of the Senate Finance Committee, but has instructed all her phone answerers to say she favors a public option.

2. This is a small step in the right direction. Last time I called I was told she hadn't decided. nm |

5. Looks to me like her priorities are aimed at helping doctors. |
|
Didn't see anything there that suggested she wanted to help people without any health care.

6. Correcting the fact that West Coast providers are getting penalized |

--for providing care more efficiently, what she is proposing helps EVERYBODY. Still our system needs, way, way more overhaul than that.
