3 C 17s left McChord Sunday carrying crews and aid to Haiti
Other McChord crews left for Haiti from Charlston AFB after picking up bottled water and other aid supplies at Langley.

C 17s can carry up to 85 tons and require a shorter landing strip (3500 feet) than many other cargo planes. McChord crews are readying additional C 17s for relief duties.
