4. Our softball team are WEAKLINGS. Only 4 came to practice Sunday
and one was me. I remember in 2001, it got into the upper 80s, and the headline in the paper said, 'HEAT WAVE TERRORIZES SEATTLE'. Since I'd just been at a wedding in Minnesota where it was 103, I just had to laugh. I like it! I wish it was a little more humid, though.

6. I remember back when I was playing soccer,
and a friend of mine said their softball game had been canceled that evening because of the heat. I gave her no end of shit over that, because I had a soccer game that night, which was most decidedly not canceled. Sure, it's too hot to stand out in a grassy field holding a beer and occasionally holding up an arm, but it's not too hot to run back and forth for 90 minutes...
