Huntington loses Franken and Schultz (no liberal talk for W.Va.) |
|
right on the eve of the election, too. schultz has been replaced by sports programming as of today. on monday, franken will be dropped and replaced by the jean dean show in a new timeslot. WRVC is now free of any progressive voices, yet conservative shill Hoppy Kercheval remains on their airwaves.
complain about the new programming director here: info@wrvc.com (304) 523-8401

Air America programming moved to WCMI 1340 AM. ESPN programming moved from WCMI to WRVC 930 AM except that Hoppy and Jean's shows replaced ESPN's Colin Cowherd in the 10am-1pm slot. Franken has been replaced by Thom Hartman in the 12 - 3 slot on WCMI. I hate losing Franken but I have XM Radio so I can catch him there. Hartman is as good or better than Franken in many ways but Al has better guests.
Ed Schultz is in his regular slot only now on WCMI. Basically, WRVC and WCMI swapped formats with some tweaking both lineups. In Kentucky 1340 has a better signal both day and night. I think 1340 is weak east of Huntington where 930 is better.

my mistake on this thread. whoever talked to me on the phone at the station told me wrong
but yeah, they moved AAR.
the signal's weaker, but we now get sam seder from 9-noon, so i can't complain. too bad the station, which broadcasts out of ashland gets too weak to pick up in huntington when randi's on

5. Moving to WV next month. |

I will be writing letters and being a squeaky wheel trying to get some decent a.m./f.m. programming. In my area, I can only get one radio station, which is an a.m. station during the day and f.m. during the night. I can't remember the call sign but it broadcasts from Monterrey, VA and Frost, WV. They play some great country music and I don't remember hearing any political talk. But I know for a fact that for thousands of people out there a radio is the only source of information, so it is important not to let it become right-wing propaganda.
I hope I can get the Huntington station at night.

6. You must be moving to the eastern mountains -- |
|
Pocahontas, Pendleton or Greenbriar Counties. There is a good reason why the radio coverage is so lousy up there. You will be in the middle of a radio-free zone, required for the operation of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory at Greenbank. Sorry!

7. But that's a nice area |

If you enjoy the outdoors there's no better place to be than Greenbrier County.
