Hooray, it rained last night!!
Dry as powder here. Looks like it rained pretty hard for a little while but the ground soaked it up pretty quick and it still looks pretty dry. We need a really good 2 or 3 day soaker.

I guess we used up our rain all at once in April.

1. We had about an hour and a half long shower last night too.
Following the thunder storm yesterday afternoon that lasted about a half hour. Looks like my grass grew three inches overnight. I'm glad it cooled the air down a bit. Looks like we had a tornado touch down over on the Ohio river. West Virginia is getting some crazy weather and I think the Exxon man knows why, but he ain't tellin'!

2. Getting dry here in Pocahontas County.
Expected some today but didn't get any.

The crick is my rain gauge and it is pretty low.

3. Cabell County Very Dry

My spring that feeds one of my watering tanks has never ran slower. But we got some rain last night too.

4. The dogs are still chasing the trees here in Boone County
But rain is on the way.

A chance of showers until noon...then rain noon through 3 PM. Highs in the mid 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent. 3 PM to 9 PM...rain. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

This is the dryest summer I've ever seen, but we're lucky here. Noplace I know of in the state is getting close to running out, like in parts of Georgia. And we just don't have wildfires like those poor folks in California are having right now.

There's lots of good reasons to pitch your tent here in the Mountain State.
