WSAZ General Election Results http://www.wsaz.com/political/misc/33214119.htmlRight away I noticed Barth is not doing as well against Capito as I had hoped. The WV Supreme Court race is looking good so far but I had hoped it would not be so close.

1. Another link for WV returns |
|
http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/vote08/Eyewitness News has declared Menis Ketchum a winner in the Supreme Court race. The second seat is still up for grabs between Workman (D) and Walker (R), with Workman ahead by 1%.

3. Nope. She gave managed to get on the leadership committee, now there's nobody to lead. |

Today there are 236 Democrats and 199 Republicans in the House. In January that will change to 251/173, not counting the 11 races that are still undecided at this time. Yep, her reception in Washington will be even colder for the next two years. I think I can manage to contain my grief over seeing her reelected.
Let's see, we've picked up 5 more Senate seats so far with 4 more still undecided - and those remaining are all currently held by Republicans. That will expand our current 51 seat majority to at least 56, counting the two idependents who currently caucus with us. It is unlikely that we will win all 4 of these undecided seats, so we'll almost certainly fall short of the 60 vote majority we had hoped for. And that means we don't need Lieberman.
In state offices it's been a Democratic sweep except for the Attorney General, which is still too close to call. Looks like those Chamber of Commerce attack ads didn't work much. I am particularly please to see Democrats won the two seats for the WV Supreme Court. That leaves Beth Walker (R) out in the cold. Blankenship kept his financial support secret this time. I wonder who he was backing in this race? We can only wonder.

4. It just keeps getting better. |

Well now, that race for WV Attorney General has been called for Democratic incumbent Darrell McGraw. Close but no cigar, GOP! That makes the WV state executive branch a complete clean sweep for Democrats.

5. Poor old Don wasted his cash but... |
|
easy come easy go.
Maybe he should just run for office himself next time. He could say "Forget The Green Party, Vote for The Mean Party" and speaking of PARTY...I think it's about time to really party! Maybe a final Bye-Bye Bush bash on January 20th? Damn, that day can't come soon enough for me. I'll be a happy camper when I don't see that sickening smirk on my TV anymore.
