West Virginia Ends Half-Century of Waiting.
'After the game, Huggins talked about how he promised a national title when West Virginia hired him three years ago. He sounded most excited in the postgame news conference when he talked about the radio broadcasts of the games being piped into the coal mines in West Virginia so the workers could listen. He said he would take the national title trophy through all the state’s small towns and back roads, giving people a chance to enjoy it.'
