I think I'm about to move there, and I'm gonna need some friends!
I guess if you're from Kenosha, Burlington, or even South Milwaukee, I'll still consider being your friend....:D

When I went to work in the Waukesha office for Kerry, many of the older people made a point of saying that Waukesha was not origninally controlled by the Repbulicans, or that it was not Republican territory. It was a while back, but they made it clear that they did not own Waukesha. So there is promise for us out here.

Did you move to get away from Racine, or to get closer to Milwaukee? :D

6. I actually bought a house in Waukesha, then sold (divorced) and moved to the city. |
|
Much of my two years in Racine is a complete blur, sadly--it was 10 years ago, seems like 30.

I'm about a year out from my own divorce. I moved closer to work and let her keep the house in Macon. If everything goes as planned, my time in Macon will fade into a blur, too ;)

Do NOT move here unless you enjoy being surrounded by Republicans.

I live in an Air Force Base town right now. It's sickening. I thought Racine was at least a bit blue. Am I misinformed?

Brookfield is full of corporate repukes, with just enough religious nutjobs to be revolting....

11. Anyone know how I can turn up a decent downtown loft that isn't "affordable housing?" |
|
I found a really cool looking loft online, but since I'll be making more than $27,000, I can't move there.
Anyone know any property managers or other agencies that may be able to help me find a nice place to rent in/near downtown?

|
If anyone has anything for rent in downtown Racine (or knows someone who does), now's the time to speak up!

I would have considered living in Milwaukee, but I really want to be able to bicycle to work when the weather's nice. I ended up finding an AWESOME place downtown less than 3 mi. from my office, so I'm happy.
Anything I need to know about Racine besides the fact that there's crime and high unemployment?
