Here's how you can help Justice Louis Butler
I received this e-mail with the request to "share widely in Wisconsin," so what better way to do that than to post it on DU?

Warner Jackson, Milwaukee Corporate Manager and Chair of the CR-SDC Board,
along with a small committee are spearheading an effort to get Judge Louis Butler of Milwaukee nominated by Senators Kohl and Feingold for one of several regional federal judgeships currently open and awaiting appointment by President Barack Obama. It is necessary that the Sentators receive numerous requests for the nomination for them to act.

This email is being sent to you in hopes that you will email both Senator Russ Feingold and Senator Herb Kohl and urge them to nominate Louis Butler for an open regional federal judgeship. Below is a link with Judge Butler's Biography and within the link is his Curriculum Vitae so that you can witness all of the extraordinary experiences and accomplishments that make this candidate, the best qualified and most credible humanitarian. Always prefaced by the dignity of unbiased fairness, Judge Louis Butler is ready to take on tough issues at the national level with honesty, skills, the appropriate
background, integrity and respect for the law and the people the law represents. Please take two minutes to email both Senators and make the request. We must be supportive of our best community members...times are very difficult and we need excellence at every level....Louis Butler represents all that excellence is. Thank you.

Here's an article listing all the applicants for the judicial position in the Western District of Wisconsin and for the U.S. Attorney position in the Eastern District (Biskupic had the good grace to resign at the end of Bush's term):

2. Thank you, Helen
Louis Butler would make a perfect appellate court judge. Let's hope Feingold/Kohl/Obama can make it so.

3. Wow. That is such an amazing idea. Thanks for sharing.
I don't think that the resignation of Biskupic was out of good grace, I think you are being way to generous. This man has some atoning to do. I don't know how or why he was perceived as clear of Georgia Thompson's incarceration, but there is something that needs to be fixed with that case.

4. Hi, Midnight!
Yeah, you're right about Biskupic (that part about good grace was just a cliche, of course). At least he's gone. In some other districts I believe the Republicans have not resigned (Alabama comes to mind).
