Reading This, It Looks Like Lawton Was Pushed Out
http://www.fox11online.com/dpp/news/lt-gov-lawton-breaks-her-silence-

ASHWAUBENON - Since first being sworn into office as Lt Governor in 2003, Barbara Lawton has had her eye on the state's top job.

"There's a variety of factors but including a way that people who control resources and thinking and press even that conspire whether intentionally or not that make it more of a challenge for women," she said."

1. There was a broad consensus, right or wrong, that she could not win.

5. The consensus was, at least among high ranking Democrats, that he was
a much stronger candidate.

6. ahhh-that fabled consensus
that is the trouble with being around for a long time.
Perhaps too long.
I have seen way too often when the consensus from madison meant that a
local candidate with some support would be strongly discouraged from running to be replaced by a clown with better madison ties.

7. it was a "broad consensus"
The Governor and his cronies reached a 'consensus' that the 'broad' shouldn't even run in the primary.

14. I'm on family leave, living in Fort.
My dad has alzheimer's, and I want to spend as much time with him while I can. I couldn't do that living 3 hours away and serving a fulltime church, so I'm taking at least a year off. Besides, church often sucks. ;)

I've been here since July, and love being back home. Life is good!
