Feingold listening session in Milwaukee, Tuesday, January 19 |
|
This will be held at the Washington High School Auditorium, 2525 N. Sherman Blvd., 9 am. There will hopefully be press coverage (they did quite a bit on the session in Pewaukee with all the tea bag crowd in attendance). This is Milwaukee County's chance to show the other side.

3. Thanks for the info. Center Street @ 43rd (Sherman Blvd) |
|
Washington High School's not hard to get to. Take the stadium freeway (94 at Miller Park) north to Lisbon. Take a right (east) to the first light, at 43rd Street/(Sherman Blvd), then left (north) a few blocks to Center.
...I might need to go in order to try and finally figure out what's what and who's who on the Health Reform bill.
The phone rang this morning and it was a telephone poll on Healthcare Reform. It was a poll from "our" side, maybe someone in Madison. (OneWisconsinNow?) At first I thought the recording sounded like something a candidate running against Sen. Feingold might run, but then the choice got narrowed down, quickly. Press "1" if you think Sen. Feingold ought to work against this 'giveaway to the insurance companies' or press "2" if you think Sen. Feingold needs to support the bill. I was waiting for a third option -- "if you're seriously still somewhere in the middle of this, unwilling to support such a giveaway/grab-your-ankles-surrender to the corporate oligarchs and establishment mandarins, but you're staying with President Obama, and all the other Dems. in Congress who've been working for the bill's passage, press "3" -- but there was no third choice in the phone menu.
If the poll had had some way to record dissatisfaction with the current version of the bill (no public option, mandates that you have to buy in order to participate in the system), without having to make a complete and total tactical compromise with the tea-baggers ("Press '1' to tell Sen. Feingold you're against this bill"), I might not have been so painfully torn.
