The State Patrol, Firefighters, and local Police should refuse to accept the exemptions that affect take-home pay.
Make him refuse your offer, and it will expose his real goal for all to see.

I walked my second lap around the capital yesterday behind a group of Cops for Unions.
I can't say what their unions have officially said to Walker, but there is no doubt that the union members are doing exactly what you propose.

2. The unions (State workers) |

have ALREADY given Walker ALL of the financial concessions he wants. ALL they are asking to keep is their collective bargaining rights.
And I don't know how many cops and firefighters I hugged yesterday. They have been heroes in this, as they have made very strong statements in support of the unions, and have had a huge presence at the protests all week.
The amendment that didn't pass already tried to include the police and firefighter unions.
Since the unions have given on the $ issues, the real goal IS clear to see! There is no reason to keep the provision regarding collective bargaining and reaffirming unions in this bill other than to crush unions.
