I have lefse in the freezer!
I am glad to meet ya! Born and bred as a cheeser, now living in northern Iron Range MN.
Our union (AFSME) raised a stink in the 1970's and lived through it - glad to see it's still going on!

3. Agreed - saw lots of the same places you did. |
|
I was very impressed to see someone there wearing on their jacket the name of a construction company from Omaha.
E Pluribus Unum - we are living it.

One of the coolest parts was when the Michigan folk passed us and the crowd chanted "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
It was awesome. :)

5. You're welcome! It was a wonderful experience! |

The people of Madison were so kind and accommodating. We had a great time.
It was what democracy looks like! On Wisconsin!

7. I was! Drove up with a parishioner, parked at WEAC, took a bus to the Capitol. |
|
We had a great day. Got there in time to see the tractorcade, had lunch at Flavor of India, walked with demonstrators, went through the Capitol, then the main rally, lentil soup and hot chocolate at Michelangelo's Coffeehouse, then back on the bus and headed home. Very tired at the end of it all, but what a great experience. Wisconsin should be proud!
I haven't been around here much--very strange year around the church. Long story, but let's just say it involved embezzlement, arson, a lot of court hearings, and a bookkeeper now in prison. I seem to have weathered that storm, and can spend more time on DU again.
How are you?!

Did you catch the morning speakers? The guys with the Family Farm Defenders, Jim Hightower, the former rep (can't remember his name)? They were great!
I've been doing fairly well. Still need to get back to school for that BA, but just can't justify the $$$. I haven't been around DU much either. I try limiting my computer time as it seems that DU and FB have become big black holes of time for me. One of these days I'll buy back another star so I can return to the group.
