Lying Supremes
WI has some justices on our Supreme Court that lie. As soon as I heard three of the witnesses to the Prosser choking incident were the conservatives I knew the case was over. And I don't buy the argument the witnesses saw things differently. It's pretty hard not to see a man placing his hands on a woman's neck as any thing but a man placing his hands on a woman's neck.

2. No charges to be filed against Prosser
Edited on Thu Aug-25-11 09:56 PM by undeterred
MADISON - No criminal charges will be filed against State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser. Special investigator Patricia Barrett said this morning there’s no legal basis to file charges in a reported physical altercation between Prosser and Justice Ann Walsh Bradley in her office on June 13th.

Barrett told the Associated Press she reviewed the reports from investigators, and found nothing that could justify charges against either justice. She also said there were conflicting accounts from other justices who witnessed the incident – but she would not say any more about that. Bradley told a reporter that Prosser gave her a chokehold, but other reports said Prosser had merely pushed Bradley’s fists away. Barrett is the district attorney in Sauk County. She was asked to serve as a special prosecutor in place of Dane County DA Ismael Ozanne, who withdrew so that people did not think that politics were behind any decision he might have made. The reported altercation took place the night before one of the Supreme Court’s most contentious decisions was released – the 4-3 vote that upheld the state law which virtually eliminated collective bargaining by most public employee unions. Prosser joined his conservative wing in upholding the decision. Bradley joined her liberal wing in its dissent. Ozanne had tried to strike down the law, claiming that legislators broke the state’s Open Meeting Law in passing it.

Gee, glad we avoided politics in making a decision about the choking of Justice Bradley. :sarcasm:

Conservatives just see women as props to be thrown around, not as human beings.

6. Gableman another lying Republicant
Gableman said Bradley is taller than Prosser and the way she towered over him reminded him of how Lydon Johnson towered over those he wanted to intimidate. Bradley is 5'3" and Prosser is 5"9". Hard to tower over someone who is 6" taller than you. Gableman's election was paid for by the Wisconsin Manufacturing and Commerce organization. A judge I know who, and I am not making this up, never says anything derogative about any one said about Gableman, "He will never be elected. He is not a good lawyer and is not well thought of in the legal community." Guess it doesn't matter when you have the WMC paying for your election.

Recent reports on the investigation of Justice David Prosser's behavior in the chambers of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley in the state Capitol on the evening of June 13 veer from the facts of the case. Let's return to those facts in order to take full measure of the status of the highest court in our state.

Prosser confessed to a Dane County Sheriff's Office detective, with his lawyer at his side, that he put his hands around Bradley's neck in her chambers. He said, "Did my hands touch her neck, yes, I admit that. . . . Did I try to touch her neck, no absolutely not, it was a total reflex." That "reflex" lasted along enough for him to "feel the warmth" of her neck.

In a meeting of the justices June 15 to discuss the incident, Bradley said to Prosser, "You put your hands on my neck in a chokehold." An eyewitness testified that no one took exception with that description.

Prosser's violent physical "reflex" reaction to frustration was consistent with his pattern of aggressive behavior in Supreme Court conferences. Prosser has called Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson a "bitch," said he would "destroy her" and that there would be a war with her. He has called Justice Patrick Crooks a "viper," and even claimed that "the judges and police in Dane County are corrupt."
