Dane County DA Fights To Imprison Protesters, Judge Agrees, Call To Action!

As many of you know, there have been several First Amendment violations in the Wisconsin State Capitol. Unrelated to those was a sit in at the Capitol on August 25th, 2011. Thirteen people were arrested for refusing to leave the Capitol, not too uncommon for a political sit in. What followed, however, was a series of hassles and First Amendment restrictions, leading to the first real public case of protest prosecution as District Attorneys everywhere scramble to decide what to do with the patriots in the Occupy movement. Although completely unrelated to the Occupy movement, this very case could prove to have ramifications across the country, and for this we should all be concerned. Being a named defendant in this case, I feel it my duty to share with the world what is happening.

1. The Dane Co DA is going along with this bullshit?
Sounds like someone needs to find a new occupation next election.

Or sooner. Maybe Dane Co. ought to be looking to recall a DA.

2. Not only violations of 1st Amendment rights but also WI Statues 19.90
Edited on Thu Nov-10-11 09:38 AM by Yon_Yonson
19.90  Use of equipment in open session. Whenever a governmental body holds a meeting in open session, the body shall make a reasonable effort to accommodate any person desiring to record, film or photograph the meeting. This section does not permit recording, filming or photographing such a meeting in a manner that interferes with the conduct of the meeting or the rights of the participants.

On Tuesday 1Nov I witnessed NO interference from the gallery with the meeting taking place on the floor. The only disturbance that was being caused was the Sergeant of Arms trolls and Neo Nazi cops making arresting.
