NDP retreats to comfort zone with Libya decision
The NDP drew its first solid line in the sand on foreign policy since taking on the role of official Opposition in Parliament on Monday, stepping away from a position adopted under Jack Layton.

The party withdrew its support for Canada’s participation in the international military mission in Libya.

Given the majority status of the ruling Conservatives, that decision will have no impact on the government’s chosen course.

But it did give a sense of how the new dynamics in the House of Commons will play out on the foreign policy front.
